Custom Vana'diel Server Project

Final Fantasy XI

Welcome to our custom Final Fantasy XI server project — a nostalgic, player-friendly version of Vana'diel focused on quality-of-life features, custom commands, trust improvements, easier travel, helpful progression tools, and a relaxed place to adventure with friends.

The goal is not just to copy retail FFXI. This server is being shaped into something more personal: classic adventure, smoother leveling, helpful systems, fun perks, and enough custom tools to make the old world feel fresh again.

Why Play Here?

A More Comfortable Vana'diel

This server is being built around the idea that FFXI is amazing, but sometimes the old systems need a little help. New players should be able to get moving, find camps, travel around, understand enemies, grab important gear, and enjoy the world without spending half the night looking things up.

Quality-of-Life First

Helpful commands, easier movement around the world, home warps, camp suggestions, and tools that reduce the clunky parts while keeping the adventure intact.

Trust-Friendly Gameplay

Trust behavior and companion tools have been a big focus, including deploy ideas, follow behavior, assist logic, and smoother solo or small-group play.

Custom Progression

The server is being shaped with custom perks, player helpers, AF gear support, beginner-friendly tools, and room for VIP or special reward systems later.

Adventure Without the Headache

The goal is to spend less time stuck and more time actually playing — leveling jobs, trying gear, fighting mobs, exploring zones, and grouping up.

Useful Server Tools

Commands like mob info, exp help, home warp, teleport tools, and travel systems are being created to give players information directly in-game.

Built by Playing

A lot of the changes come from actual testing: trusts falling behind, commands needing cooldowns, players needing gear help, and small problems that come up while adventuring.

Server Systems

What We Have Been Building

Home Warp Command A player-safe home command with restrictions for combat, jail zones, and cooldowns so players have a useful escape without abusing it.
Teleport and Travel Helpers Teleport tools and travel command ideas are being built to help players move through Vana'diel faster without needing a GM for every trip.
EXP Camp Guidance EXP command ideas help point players toward useful leveling zones and camps, making it easier for new or returning players to know where to go.
Mob Info Command A targeted mob info command gives players quick details like enemy level and HP, which is especially useful when exploring unfamiliar areas.
AF Gear Helper A custom AF gear command concept can check a player's current job and level, then award the correct artifact gear without needing manual lookup.
Trust Deploy Improvements Trust work has included deploy behavior, better engagement logic, follow improvements, and testing how companions react when the player engages.
VIP and Perk Ideas Instead of making everyone a GM, the server can support special player variables such as VIP access for certain commands, perks, or reward systems.
Auto-Raise Concepts VIP or GM-friendly perks have been discussed, including ideas like automatic Raise III on death for approved players or special roles.
Auction House Work Auction house stocking and price-history ideas have been explored, including keeping useful items available and making the economy feel less empty.
Custom NPC Work NPC appearance edits, custom NPC placement, and database tweaks are part of shaping the server into something with its own personality.

Player Commands

Helpful Tools In-Game

These are the kinds of commands and systems that make the server easier to enjoy. Some are built, some are being tested, and some are planned as part of the overall server direction.

Command Purpose
!home Warps the player to their home point with safety checks like cooldowns, jail blocking, and combat restrictions.
!tele Gives players quick access to classic teleport destinations, helping reduce downtime when moving around the world.
!travel Planned or experimental zone travel command using auto-translated zone names to make movement easier and more player-friendly.
!exp Intended to show recommended leveling areas and camp suggestions based on level ranges, helping new players find where to go next.
!mobinfo Shows useful information about the targeted enemy, such as level and HP, so players can judge fights more easily.
!af Gives appropriate artifact gear based on the player's current job and level, removing the need to manually check every AF item.
!deploy Trust-focused helper concept for making companions engage or assist more reliably during combat.
VIP Perks Special access can be handled with player variables instead of GM status, allowing approved players to receive extra perks safely.
Note: This page can be updated as the server grows. The server is still being customized, tested, and shaped, so commands and features may change as better ideas are added.

New Player Friendly

What New Players Should Know

Solo Play Is Supported

Trusts and helper systems are a major part of the server's direction, so players should be able to make progress even without a full party.

Ask About Commands

Many custom tools are being added to make the server easier. Players should ask what commands are available when they first log in.

Leveling Help Exists

The server is being designed with camp guidance and progression helpers so players are not stuck wondering where to level next.

Gear Help Is Planned

Artifact gear helpers and possible starter gear improvements are part of making job progression feel less frustrating.

Economy Support

Auction house stocking has been explored so players can find more of the items they need instead of dealing with an empty AH.

Custom Flavor

NPC edits, custom perks, VIP access, and special systems give the server its own personality beyond a basic private server install.

The Vision

Classic FFXI, Less Friction

This server is meant to feel like coming back to Vana'diel with a little more breathing room. The old world, the jobs, the monsters, the zones, the grind, and the nostalgia are still the heart of it — but the rough edges are being softened with custom tools and player-friendly changes.

Whether someone wants to level casually, explore old zones, experiment with jobs, use trusts, test custom systems, or just hang out in a familiar MMO world, the server is being built to support that kind of play.
